Arm Lift

Arm Lift

This procedure known as brachioplasty aims to reduce the sagging skin or tissue. A number of reasons such as weight loss, genetics and normal aging process can cause the skin to lose its firmness and sag.  An arm lift will remove the excess sagging skin under the upper arm and tighten the skin to reveal a firmer shape.

This procedure is often combined with other body contouring operation such as bodylift, thigh lift or liposuction. The skin of those patients has been subject to stretch during the excess of weight and elasticity has not returned to the normal.

Results

Result is immediate. It will improve after a month when swelling will decrease. Patients should avoid intense activity during a month’s time, for maximum healing.

A scar will remain where the incision was made, which is usually in the backside of the arm since it is the less visible. Scar length will vary depending on how much tissue is being removed.

Who can have this surgery?

In general, arm lift candidates include:

Adults with significant upper arm skin laxity
Adults of any age whose weight is relatively stable and who are not significantly overweight
Healthy individuals without medical conditions that impair healing or increase risk of surgery
