Breast Lift

Also known as Mastopexy, breast lift surgery is used to elevate saggy breasts and re-contour them in order to enhance the shape of a woman’s body and recreating a youthful look.

Beware that pregnancy, breastfeeding, and weight fluctuations might increase the sagging of the breasts, resulting in the appearance of excess skin and loss of firmness.

During the procedure, the surgeon will remove excess skin through an incision in the areola or a vertical incision and provide a rejuvenated shape to your breasts. In most cases the procedure is relatively pain-free. You should nonetheless expect to have a slightly scar around the areola and down to the bottom of the breast.

In breasts that are saggy and have very little volume, your surgeon might propose the combination of a breast implant to the mastopexy to increase the upper pole fullness or “décolleté”.

Breastfeeding will still be possible after the procedure, although it is recommended to wait until the end of pregnancies before having the operation done.

Results

The results of your breast lift surgery are immediately visible. Over time, post-surgical swelling will resolve and incision lines will fade.

Who can have this surgery?

The candidate for breast lift surgery should be physically healthy and maintain a stable weight. Breast lift surgery is a highly individualized procedure. You should do it for yourself, not to fulfill someone else’s desires or to try to fit any sort of ideal image.
