Face Lipofilling

Face Lipofilling

Also known as “Fat transfer” or “Fat Grafting”, lipofilling consists of harvesting fat from certain areas in the body and injecting it somewhere else. Face lipofilling helps add fullness to specific parts of the face such as the cheeks, the lips, the chin or in specifically wrinkled areas.

The use of fat grafting in aesthetic surgery dates back to the end of the 17th century but its current popularity only grew with modern techniques of liposuction.

Facial fat transfer can be done under local anesthesia and involves only a small amount of fat.

Results

Results are visible Immediately after the surgery. However, with the ongoing diminution of edema and bruising, the final result will keep improving and be visible after approximately three months.

Who can have this surgery?

The purpose of fat grafting is to augment or fill in volume-deficient areas.

Of course, you must have donor sites from which fat can be taken. It is important that you do not have any circulation problems, either from a medical condition or smoking.
